Reporting about Taylor's Mass Colympics 2009 paintball tournament.

The team never join any tournament after MY-NPL 2009 1st round which held in PJ about few months ago. It was our honour to join the Team Revolution in Taylor's tournament this time. We gained quite a lot from this senior team and thank goodness our tiredness get paid with the name - 1st runner up.

Tournament : MY-NPL 2009 (League 1)
Date : 14th and 15th 2009
Venue : MAPAAC, Kompleks Sukan Astaka, Petaling Jaya.

Finally i'm updating about this tourney. Was too busy to write about it cuz right after the tourney every1 was so busy.. Melvin and I back to campus in Melaka, Eddie and Nic back to work, Bob and Fong back to study at KL too.. both our new helpful crew lien chai and special team friend - Denise too are back to study, especially Denise been telling me bout assignments and exams.. OMG every1 is just SOOOO busy!!! I'm here today to update this blog post is because i fall sick after a long busy =P finally i have a reason to at least stop doing any other thing and just concentrate in writing about this post.

alrite i shall begin.

Field Walking + Captain Meeting @ 13th feb 2009(Friday), 6.30pm - 9.30pm
attended was Melvin, bob, fong, eddie, and I. This is just an opinion of mine as the captain of the team, I personally feel that we REALLY plan during the field walking session. If compare with our past field walking session before tourney, we were blur and didn't really know how to actually observe the field and bunkers... once all confirmed which position to play then we just left the field. But this time, i shall say probably we take the tourney quite serious and that is why we've taken more than 1 hour for field walking , (and actually we still need more time for it too bad its getting dark we've no choice but to stop, can't see anymore). well.. what we got to planned is only who to take care which bunkers. We didn't really plan on who cover who , from where, and the replacement movement, there are just a lot more..

special thanks to our senior from MMU - team outrecs melaka that had been helping us in the planning. Jaun and Vicky from the team has given us some tips.

Day 1 MY-NPL 2009 (Event 1)
As a manager of the team, I made sure no more same mistakes we'll make this time - LATE.
I'll NEVER EVER let this happen again --> Encik Sofian keep announcing " team BLAZERZ, sila laporkan diri di khemah krono sekarang.. sekarang juga , sekarang juga! " and he keep repeats for a few times. that ''sekarang juga!'' is scary u know...
well. SORRY i'll never let this happen again, it can only be our history! xD (1st MY-NPL tourney we participated)

SO, we MANAGE to
reach 1 hour before tourney start this time. after buying a few boxes of pallets, we started to do some warm up. I'm glad we got to do warm up together this time. Not sure about others, but i truly feel that our teamwork is there T_T

seriously i can't remember the first 4 games.. what i remember is 1 of my teammates' marker didn't touch gate and got forfeited out right after the game start, making the game 4 vs 5. But according to my teammate, he did touched the gate. I believe him because he is my people. I will not elaborate much about this as it's already a past.

TEAM IPGM PERLIS
this team.. was very special for me =) they are teachers from maktab. well why is it special? I was teacher too in primary school last time, that is why I had quite a long talk with them before the team and my team went into the field. we didn't talk much bout paintball but we talk bout students and kids! haha...!
ok serious topic again now.. paintball..
well i can remember quite well bout this game cuz i was watching the game outside the field together with lien chai (we take turns in playing cuz it's 6 of us in the team this time when the tourney only need 5 people per game). BLAZERZ having so much advantage after taking down 2 of them. HOWEVER things change so dramatically when 2 of them run forward and take down 2 of us. 1 or 2 of my teammates go forward, and in a very short time, all from my team was down. which means, the only 2 guys in opponent team take very short time to actually take down 5 of us.

What i learnt from this game was, we'll need to learn more on which way and how to move when our front man is down.

TEAM FEREX HUNTER
this game.. was the longest game i played (well might be a bit too long not sure). it was still 5 vs 5 after 1 minute, no one from both team make further move. I can clearly seen opponents back left. he keeps expose his body out from bunker ( I guess me too, else he wont keep targeting on me and me too). Both him and I had been shooting each other for more than 30 seconds! no one got shot! It was irritating u see... proven both him and I are not a sharp shooter. He got bored and hide, so i take a look at my left, my snake man stil there. Asked him to help. I take a look at my back centre man, He was shouting something to me, that was sooo loud till i don't understand..OMG..

My eyes are back to the back left guy again. He's not appearing. all of a sudden my snake man is down. got shot from his mirror. I guess that is what my back centre man was shouting about.
The opponents snake man move forward and was soooooooo near to me. He has very big opportunity to bunker me from his place but he didn't. I guess he didn't know i can see him very clearly from my place ( it was just about 2 to 3 metres away) Instead of waiting him to come forward bunkering me, i make the 1st move to his place and tried to bunker him. Too bad.. in a few secondst time, i've forgotten the correct way of doing this!! Supposingly i should run near to him, spam a few pallets, and land behind of him. What i did is.. I run near him, and i was very shocked seeing his marker aiming at me too (which i already knew), I stopped right in front of him, stand still, both of us shooting each other face to face! (my goodness i should remember to land behind him) OMG my heart was gonna burst at anytime... it was my 1st time doing something like this T_T . Anyway, things ended with i got shot =(

My mind was lack of oxygen already when i leave to dead zone, not sure what the other 2 remaining back man was doing..

I Like this league the most if compare with our past tourneys. why? cuz i found friendship thru it, i learnt sports man like, I learnt how to manage a team, i learnt how to make herbs tea (for my teammates) =)
Even though we didn't manage to proceed to 2nd round, but i truly believe that if we're well prepared, our 1st tourney MY NPL 08 (League 4) history may happens again (get to proceed) in future =)

The MPOC of 2009 will be heavily powered by vendors with KCHL,Pro Paintball and Napshot already committed to the cause.These three vendors will be the Platinum & Paint sponsors of the MPOC 2009.Yes..2009 will be the year that paintballs will be open to all brands in the MPOC.

KCHL will also be the Official Air Supplier.Xtion Paintball Park will again be the Co-Organiser and KSN will be the Official Venue for all events held at Xtion Paintball.

The interest of major international vendors Dye,JT,KEE ,Smart Parts,Luxe,Sup'airball & Spyder will be represented by these vendors.

The commitment of the oldest and pioneer paintball league in Malaysia will be to continue in our efforts to make paintball affordable to all in a sustainable manner.We have managed to basically maintain our registration cost and more importantly bring down the cost of paintballs in 2009 while increasing the prizemoney.

We are also very proud to be associated with the illustrous Malaysian Marshals(MMs) who will continue to ensure all teams get an equal chance in the league.Respected even by paintballers in the region,they will spearhead the integrity of the MPOC in 2009.

At the point of this posting,we await the decision of another main vendor in the country if they are in for the MPOC in 2009.

We trust that we will be better positioned to serve the sport in 2009 but we will need your support..without whom..all these will be for nothing.

1st Leg - 10th & 11th January - Xtion Paintball KL(Confirmed)

Bonus Event - 13/14/15th February - Labuan Open(Int)(Confirmed)

2nd Leg - 7th & 8th March - UIAM/Xtion Paintball KL

3rd Leg - 18th & 19th April - Xtion Paintball KL

4th Leg - 6th & 7th June - Penang/Johor

5th & Final Leg - 14th,15th & 16th August - Xtion Paintball KL

THE FORMAT OF PLAY

Division 1 will be playing the M7 Format with PSP or Millennium ramping allowed.

Division 2 will be playing the M5 Format with PSP or Millennium ramping allowed.(Minimum of 9 prelim games)

Division 3 will be playing the M5 Format in semi auto mode.(Minimum of 9 prelim games)

Division 4 will be playing the M5 Format with non electronic markers only.(Rentals will be provided for this division).Team may use their own equipment if they have them.(Minimum of 7 prelim games)

Division 1 - Registration RM600

Division 2 - Registration RM400

Division 3 - Registration RM300

Division 4 - Registration RM200

Player ID Card : RM45 per registered player(Per Season)

PAINTBALLS

Division 1 - Team may use the brand they wish by submitting the paint earlier to the organisers for approval.A corkage of $70 applies for each box brought .They may also buy during the tournament.

D2 / D3 /D4 - These teams will have the option of paintballs either from Pro Paintball,KCHL,Skirmish or Napshot if they are sponsors of the MPOC in 2009.Paintball prices starts from RM 175 all the way to RM 190.

No unapproved paintballs will be allowed on site.

warkss.. it's freaking busy in campus and i'm afraid that i can hardly find a time to sleep at least 5 hours a day. i wish i could update this blog regarding our past tournaments. Lots of thoughts to share about. Will. soon. =)

meanwhile, just for sharing. i wonder is there really barrel socks like that. looks suitable for girls.

The MY-NPL '09 first round is finally over. Although our Blazerz aren't able to rise up to the top 16, however we gain a lot of experience and most of all the new friendship... Ah Foong, Eddie, and Nicholas the members who joined us for 1st round... I, Melvin personally enjoyed the game as I do see improvements in our games but most of all I enjoyed the company of all the team mates. This round, Is a very crucial round for me as I want to give a test on my playing abilities as the Center Back of the team... and I have found out that I wasn't able to perform well... therefore I would officially resign as the team's vice captain... the strategies that we discussed was not thoroughly and I am not able to finalise with most of the decision... For the strategy part, I would really want apologise... Its the experience that I need to further gain... For the future, let whoever be deciding on the strategy, let it be more complete and everyone able to understand... For a better future of Blazerz... Paint Them Our Color!!!
